What a strange book for a 50 year old man who normally reads the standard "Who Done It" books to pick-up. Odder still, is the fact that I loved it!

Surprisingly, this novel has everything I love; history, drama, magic, humor. It's all there. The main characters travel through time and discover that they are part of history. All the various styles that I love in books are present in this one book. From the beginning the author invites you in, and rather than feeling like an observer to events, I found myself drawn into the story. I quickly developed a vested interest in the characters. The way the scenes are described I could see the greenery of the forest, the darkness of a cave and even imagine the coldness of the Castle stones,

I've been trying to come up with who I would consider a comparable author to Barbara Burgess and the only one who comes to mind is Diana Gabaldon. Both of these authors have a talent to turn a "girly book" into something that has much to offer a diverse readership.

I'm not sure how exactly I happened upon this book but I am glad I did. It really does show how you can't judge a book by it's cover.

The Magic Manuscript Voyage to Eve Ilion Volume 1 Barbara Burgess 9780991857449 Books Reviews

This story leads the characters through a journey of self discovery through different periods of time. The plot is surrounded around a magical manuscript and an ancient sword. The story weaves from ancient times, to modern day, back to ancient times, seemlessly. The authors description of the world around the characters, and the characters themselves, is so memorable that readers will feel as if they were transported in time themselves, to view, if only for a short period time, the story through the character's eyes. Readers who love reading fantasy similar to the mystical style of J.R.R. Tolkein, but without the gruesome battles, will certainly love this 140 page historical version which brings to life the story of King Arthur, but in a very unique way. The author has used reincarnation to an interesting level that will keep the readers attention and have them wondering how often fate plays it's hand. Readers will certainly be yearning for the next book in the series, wanting to follow Arthur and Jennifer on their next amazing and mystical adventure.

This book is so well written and developed that anyone, young or older, will certainly enjoy it. It's bound to become a classic some day...at least I hope it will!
I first read the second volume of the “The magic Manuscript The Nine companions.
It had captivated me even I am not normally read stories like it. Now I have read the first book, “The Magic Manuscript Voyage to Eve Ilion.”
It also captivated and fascinated me, as the first did.
Azara, serpent, dragen numph, Artur the shepherd boy, and King Arthur, Lady Genevieve, Lady Eve. Merlin, Lancelot and Mount Azaree. It all is in the story and brilliantly put together.

I have so much enjoyed it and I could see myself in the magical story.
A read for everyone.
