Awesome book! I really enjoyed it.
Written for young people, but engaging for one who isn't. A fun read with issues to ponder.
Space Rocks was a wonderful read. The story was engaging and had great characters. I can't wait for the sequel!
A fun, funny and good-natured YA book that creates compelling characters, has a good time creating its own intriguing universe and leaves you wanting more.
A delightful romp! Funny! Amusing! Really enjoyed reading this one. When I was younger I grew up on my dad's old scifi books such as Runaway Robot and the Tom Corbett, Space Cadet series, but it seems like most YA series nowadays have moved more in the fantasy direction (which is ok too). I hope this book turns into a series that can inspire today's youth to love science fiction like Tom Corbett and Star Trek did with me. I feel like Chorkle and company have the potential to do just that. It has humor, action, cool characters, and the unknown.

I feel like this would be a great Science Fiction option for younger readers (probably best for 5th~ grade and up, which is too bad since I teach 3rd grade).
Have to say I loved this book. I'm sure kids will enjoy it, too. It's a great adventure story with a fun cast of characters (human and otherwise) and many laugh-out-loud moments. The plot was well-paced (and kept the pages turning - finished the book in a few days), the dialogue witty and the characters were diverse and endearing. The ending definitely set up a sequel, and I see another book in the series is avail for pre-order. Can't wait to read the next one!
Chronological kids and those adults whose inner kid still leads them on great book adventures will love Space Rocks! It has vivid characters, especially the stubborn young Xotonian narrator Chorkle, who is scrambling to hide and protect a group of immature Earthlings inadvertently left behind on asteroid Gelo by their mining ship, while Gelo's angry elders are out for the blood of resource robbing "hu-mins" of any size. There's a thrill on every page and the pace is so fast you'll think you are riding a human kid's rocket bike!
